Howdy!
We just wrapped a trip through Northwest Colorado – and even met a few of you along the way! Here’s a rundown:

First stop was North Park Medical Clinic in Walden, where broadband and mental health were top of mind. Healthcare providers are a literal lifeline in rural communities like this, and we’re making sure Jackson County has the resources it needs to ensure everyone has access to high-quality care.

Next was Steamboat Springs, where local leaders are undertaking a major project that will create more workforce housing. The affordable housing crisis has hit our mountain communities particularly hard, and Routt County can serve as a national model for how we can address it.
While in Steamboat, we had to stop by Storm Peak Brewing Co. – they even let me behind the bar!

Then we headed to Rio Blanco County and toured the White River Museum in Meeker, which is helping preserve the community’s deep history. We spoke with regional leaders about the importance of small businesses to rural communities and how we can equip them with the tools they need to grow.

We rounded off the trip in Craig, where we talked infrastructure, economic transition, and entrepreneurship. There’s no doubt that our rural communities are economic engines and can be a driving force as we transition to a 21st century economy.
Whether it’s Walden, Steamboat, Meeker, Hayden, or Craig, one thing was clear after this trip: Colorado’s rural towns are a hub for innovation and growth.
