Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals serves six states, including Colorado
Washington, D.C.- U.S. Senators John Hickenlooper and Michael Bennet today introduced Veronica Rossman at her confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Rossman, who lives in Denver, was nominated by President Biden to serve as a judge on the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, which serves six states, including Colorado.
“Over the course of her career, Veronica has earned a reputation for being fair, tenacious, and dedicated to equal justice under the law. She is well-respected and trusted by her peers and colleagues, including those who have served with her as opposing counsel,” said Hickenlooper. “I have no doubt that Veronica will serve with impartiality, honesty, and integrity.”
“We need more judges like Veronica who are not only highly qualified, but who know what it means to be on the wrong end of a legal system that too often fails the most vulnerable in our society,” said Bennet. “Ms. Rossman’s qualifications are unparalleled. She has been a first-rate lawyer, and she would make an outstanding judge.”
Rossman is currently Senior Counsel to the Office of the Federal Public Defender (FPD) for the Districts of Colorado and Wyoming, where she represents defendants who cannot afford private counsel in district court and in appellate matters originating in every judicial district in the Tenth Circuit.
For two years, Rossman taught as a visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law. For five years, Rossman served on the board of Faculty of Federal Advocates – an organization of attorneys dedicated to improving the quality of legal practice in the federal courts in Colorado by enhancing advocacy skills, professionalism, and the integrity of practice.
