Hey folks, In case you missed it, we recently buckled up and hit the road in Northern Colorado to hear about local issues and hold a public town hall in Walden to meet with Coloradans like YOU! Keep reading to hear more about our adventures ?

We stopped by the Northern Colorado Regional Airport to celebrate Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding for a new airport terminal (over $500 million has been delivered to Colorado airports across the state!) and visit the new Aims Community College Flight Training Center, which is training the aviation workforce of the future.
Next, we dropped by Colorado State University’s Department of Atmospheric Sciences to launch a weather balloon and hear about CSU’s climate research. Felt good to step back into my scientist boots!
In Berthoud, we toured Ursa Major, a Colorado aerospace company at the forefront of innovation in rocket propulsion. They’re *literally* taking our space industry to new heights, and we even got to watch one of their rocket engine tests. Sound cool? Check it out HERE.
And over in Walden, we hosted a town hall to hear directly from YOU on a range of issues including affordable housing, veteran benefits, wolves, and road and highway safety. Didn’t get to stop by and ask your question? As always, you can send us your questions HERE.
Colorado farmers and ranchers understand the impacts of the Colorado River crisis first-hand, and it was great discussing how we can better support over in Washington.
In many rural communities across Colorado, emergency responders save lives but are often stretched thin and lack all the resources they need. We met with local emergency responders in Granby to discuss the importance of community paramedicine and thank them for their service.
Afterwards, we stopped in Winter Park to check out the train platform (did someone hear the Ski Train?) as well as Conifer Commons, one of the largest workforce housing projects in the state. Great to see how our state’s investing in more workforce housing and more connected public transit!
Traveling across the state to meet Coloradans is one of the best parts of this job. See you soon!
Sincerely,
Senator John Hickenlooper
