WASHINGTON – Yesterday, U.S. Senator John Hickenlooper met with Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Chair Lina Khan to discuss artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential impact on American consumers.
“Advancements in AI are the result of American innovation, but recent developments have raised a range of concerns,” said Hickenlooper. “We met with Chair Khan to discuss the right guardrails to prevent potential harm to consumers and how we can work together in a bipartisan fashion to ensure AI is developed safely, fairly, and transparently.”
This Congress, Hickenlooper chairs the Subcommittee on Consumer Protection, Product Safety, and Data Security under the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.
