Senate Republicans voted against the Right to IVF Act, tanking the bill for the second time
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator John Hickenlooper released the following statement after Senate Republicans voted against the Right to IVF Act, which would establish a right to in vitro fertilization (IVF) services nationwide and help make IVF treatment more affordable for Americans hoping to start a family.
“Republicans just voted against American families. Our son Jack is 21 months old, a blessing of IVF, and 100,000 families experience a similar blessing each year. MAGA Republicans are showing us exactly what their values are when it comes to the American family.”
Along with the Right to IVF Act, Hickenlooper is a cosponsor of the Expanding Access to Family Planning Act, which would protect and expand access to reproductive health care services including birth control and cancer screenings.Hickenlooper also cosponsors the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would codify Roe v. Wade into federal law.
