U.S. Senator John Hickenlooper and a bipartisan coalition of 16 senators met virtually today with Brian Deese, President Biden’s Director of the National Economic Council, and other members of Biden’s pandemic response team to discuss the urgent need to pass additional COVID economic relief and prioritize vaccine distribution.
Hickenlooper released the following statement after the meeting:
“I’m eager to assist President Biden in creating a bipartisan reversal of this country’s largely disorganized response to the coronavirus pandemic. Our priorities include producing more vaccines and improving distribution, and we must also support those whose lives have been turned upside down by the virus. We need to focus on our nation’s small businesses — especially restaurants and other service industries — and I’ll fight to make sure Colorado gets its fair share of resources. Today we had a productive discussion about achieving these goals, with much agreement on both sides of the aisle.”
